“What do we mean when we say “Liberal Radio?” When we say “Progressive Conversation,” how do we differentiate it from conservative radio, right-wing radio, Republican radio?
What we’re doing here at the Head-On Radio Network (H.O.R.N.) is the direct antithesis of everything that’s been pumped into the political atmosphere over the course of the last two decades.
The H.O.R.N. is a full-frontal assault on every paradigm that presently obtains in American media. Here at the H.O.R.N., we mean to prove the expertise of the folks who go to work everyday; we aim to afford the same courtesies and time that other radio shows only give to “guests.” Our callers aren’t our guests. We are theirs. They invite us into their homes every day, for hours at a time. We owe our listeners far more than they can ever possibly owe us. When was the last time you heard anyone on radio say that? We don’t just say it. We mean it.
Conventional wisdom says that only “professionals” may inform the public of what’s going on around them. The Head-On Radio Network challenges the meaning of “professional.” Is it professional to use right-wing faxes as sources of legitimate news? Is it professional to hold out two Republicans and one conservative Democrat as “balance?” Is it professional to quietly accept into one’s ranks a Republican male prostitute and later plead ignorance? Of course it isn’t! Yet each and every assertion has a concrete example in the “professional” media.
Every voice on the Head-On Radio Network is truly professional in every sense of the word. We’re factual. We’re passionate. We’re truthful. We’re determined to share that truth no matter the cost.
Republicans constantly howl about a liberal media that simply does not exist.
It’s time the Repigs learned what liberal media really sounds like. It’s time Repigs got the full benefit of liberal talk radio. It’s time the Repigs found out what it sounds like when progressives fight back on the radio, a medium they’ve long since thought they owned. It’s time for progressive, liberal Americans, southerners, westerners, easterners and northerners, in all their millions, to cast off their silence and be heard, and put the fear of a real medium, a progressive radio medium, liberal radio with its teeth bared, a medium owned by no corporation, into the Wrong-wing of the American body politic.
The Head-On Radio Network is the Liberal Media, the progressive talk radio voice that the Republican Party has long feared. We ARE biased. We’re biased in favor of facts. We’re biased in favor of the working people who carry the wealth of the nation on their backs every day. Progressive talk on the H.O.R.N. is biased in favoe of the America that Jefferson dreamed and Lincoln birthed and FDR saved. Liberal conversation radio on the H.O.R.N. is biased in favor of the America that John Kennedy saw coming from the mountain where he, Bobby and Martin all stood.
Clemenceau once said that “war is too important to be left to the Generals.” In America in the 21st Century, the First Amendment is too important to be left to the Professional Journalists. It’s time for a new dialogue. It’s time for liberal radio, progressive radio.
It’s time to sound the H.O.R.N. and wake up the sleeping giant.
