1 Response to “Highlights and Interviews”

Was glad to see that you posted on youtube an interview with Scott Ritter.  West Virginia media networks and radio stations, and newspapers, absolutely failed in this recent major opportunity to have a more informed public, and electorate, from one of the most credible speakers, in particular about Iraq and WMD, as one could possibly find.  This man has sold many books and been a major speaker around the country, yet not one major medium (not even WVPubBrod, who only gave him a 5 minute interview by phone) covered him, while they even advertised his appearance!  Finding the youtube video today I see others noted this as well which should make all very suspicious.

What this shows is that there is some kind of control even over more "liberal" media (e.g. WV Gazette) in West Virginia.  (Note that not only republicans, but "establishment democrats" seem to stifle and avoid the same discussion as if it no longer matters while it dominates national attention).  What other explanation is there, unless you believe that their newspapers or videos would not be interesting to the public–on the most-discussed issue in the last five years, which has caused the deployment of West Virginia's own sons and daughters, some of whom have come back in coffins!

This is tantamount to controlling public knowledge, through not only editing, but virtual "blackout", to limit it to their own viewpoints and the propaganda surrounding the continuing "war on terrorism".  The most trivial articles were highlighted the day after Ritter's visit as WVSU in place of a nationally recognized speaker.  Everything Bill Moyer's displayed, that some of them applauded, in his documentary "Buying the War" therefore applies equally to West Virginia media as much as Fox and others.  Alternative media is modern day "pamphleteering", using the internet as the new printing press, along with indy radio, is about the only way to bring the truth to the rather distracted, or brainwashed, public.
