The price of responsibility is a very heavy burden for those who have the health and welfare of the people who live and work abroad for our country under their stewardship. Now isn’t any different than it was nine years ago and we see how the GOP is reacting with regard to Hillary Clinton. Did the GOP mount an assault on the ones who voted for an undeclared war on a country that hadn’t committed any offense against the U.S.? No, instead they were the ones who yelled the war cry that’s been heard around the world!
Mrs. Clinton stated,: “As I have said many times, I take responsibility. And nobody is more committed to getting this right. I am determined to leave the State Department and our country safer, stronger, and more secure,” she said. “For me, it’s personal.” Since the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi questions have persisted over what happened that night, whether there was adequate security at the compound and the manner in which the Obama administration initially described the attack.
Mrs. Clinton has taken responsibility for her position and the GOP continues to evade the most crucial debates on national debt, safety net issues and the health and welfare of the people of the United States. Now, tell me who’s to blame for our current global situation and countless innocent deaths but have yet to take the responsibility for their participation, or lack of, in the course of governing the United States?
Let’s take Rand Paul for example, “Paul blamed Clinton for a “failure of leadership” in the government’s response to violence in Benghazi that left four Americans dead, including U.S. Ambassador to Libya Christopher Stevens, and said it was the “greatest tragedy since 9/11.” He criticized Clinton for not reading classified cables about security concerns in Benghazi.” “Had I been president at the time and I found out that you did not read the cables … I would have relieved you of your post,” he said. “I think it’s inexcusable.”
Strangely enough Mr. Paul’s views on Civil Rights would lead one to think if he were President, Mrs. Clinton would have never been considered for the position she holds in the first place. If Rand Paul had been President at the time of 9/11 what would he have said to the GOP who lied in order to begin a war that took us into the bowels of hell and a loss of life that we’ll never recover from? I suppose it’s easy to ask the questions, and until we get some actual answers from the GOP we’ll continue on in the same vein we have been, a bleeding, war torn and depressed nation that will continue to struggle as long as the GOP has us pinned to the wall.
